Los Cristianos – Tenerife

Los Cristianos is situated west of the southern airport (Reina Sofía) and is one of the most popular and busy resorts on the Canary Islands. The beaches are beautiful and it has a harbour that offers fishing trips, pleasure cruises, outings on glass bottom boats, diving excursions and ferries to the neighbouring island of La Gomera.

It was once an old fishing town that over the years has experienced major expansion, making it a popular choice for holidays.

Much of the action centres around the pedestrian area which borders the beach. This long promenade is a haven for good quality restaurants, bars and cafés that offer food from around the world as well as typical Canarian dishes. By night, it lights up as one of the busiest places in the south of Tenerife, together with nearby Playa de las Américas.

The main beach is large, has golden sand, tranquil waters and is a hive of activity, with plenty of sunbeds and shower facilities. The next beach along is Playa de las Vistas which is another lengthy stretch of yellow soft sand with an abundance of amenities. Waters sports are on offer here. You can e.g. have fun on a pedalo or test your surfing ability.

Away from the beaches and promenade area, you will discover a labyrinth of shops including boutiques, designer labels and other great places to pick up a bargain, with numerous cafés and bars scattered amongst this shoppers’ paradise.

Nearby attractions include Aqualand and the fantastic Siam Park, one of Europe’s most spectacular water parks with an amazing range of exciting slides and thrilling rides.

Pico del Teide

Visit the largest national park in the Canary Islands and experience the beautiful volcanic landscape. From the base station, board the funicular for an 8-minute trip to Spain’s highest peak. The station at the top of the mountain, at an altitude of 3,555 meters, is the starting point for 3 interesting hikes. There are trails to the viewpoint in Pico Viejo and La Fortaleza where you can admire the spectacular views over the northern and southern parts of the island. The Telesforo Bravo path leads to the highest point of the volcano, at an altitude of 3718 meters. In order to visit the top, you must apply for a permit in advance.

Whales and dolphins

Board a stylish catamaran with impressive underwater windows. Or pick a spot on the deck to take in the many sights you’ll see during your trip. After you sail out of the harbor, you will sail towards families of whales and dolphins. They stay near the island all year round. After all, along the coast of Adeje, Guia de Isora and Santiago del Teide, herds of dolphins and whales are an everyday sight. When you spot them, spend a few minutes below deck and observe them through the underwater windows.

Trip with catamaran

For example, depart from Puerto Colón on a comfortable, modern catamaran bound for the open sea. Enjoy the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful view of the south coast of Tenerife. Admire the towering cliffs of Los Gigantes from the water. On such trips you invariably sail to an ideal place for swimming and snorkeling. This way you also get to know some of the varied underwater life in the region. Who knows, you might also spot one of the 28 species of cetaceans that migrate past the islands, including bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales!

La Gomera

During your holiday in La Serenata (Los Cristianos – Tenerife), be sure to discover the idyllic island of La Gomera, a place full of spectacular sights and authentic culture. It is the perfect destination for an unforgettable day trip. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will discover the highlights of the jewel of the Canary archipelago. You also have a fantastic panoramic view of the volcano ‘Teide’ from La Gomera. You can also visit a number of legendary sights such as the Torre del Conde in San Sebastian. But also enjoy the wonderful transfer by boat to La Gomera.

Paragliding

You can also enjoy paragliding over Tenerife. If you are not an experienced paraglider yourself, very experienced guides are available so that you are in safe hands. You’ll then begin the activity with a safety briefing on takeoff, landing, and paragliding. The flight itself takes 20-30 minutes. The route is subject to weather conditions. Some routes fly over canyons. Other routes then go over the Conde ridge. The flight usually ends over the coast of Adeje. When you approach the landing zone on the beach, you often also get the opportunity to perform acrobatics (together) or to pilot the paraglider yourself.

Offroad-adventure

For example, start your quad tour at Arona. From here you meander up to Villaflor along unpaved paths and in the middle of nature. Your guide will tailor the ride to the riding ability of the group. You will spend approximately 90 minutes exploring the region by quad bike, with a total activity duration of approximately 2.5 hours. You will challenge your own driving skills on a series of special off-road trails. The off-road trip takes place in small groups. Your guide will provide clear safety instructions and assist you in driving your quad. The quads are powerful and make climbing easy, even with 2 people on them (maximum 180 kg).
